I'm Amy Gifford and I'm so excited to share my fitness journey and the start of my mindful consumption journey. As a personal trainer, mom and cannabis advocate, I have seen firsthand the benefits of incorporating cannabis into a fitness routine, including increased workout enjoyment, focus, relaxation, better sleep and pain relief.
I have used cannabis for my mental health for years. It has helped me and manage stress, depression, insomnia and even help with ADHD. It wasn't until the pandemic that I start utilizing it to gain focus in my workout routine. The mind muscle connection was on point. I could easily get in the zone and had more focus to finish my workout than ever before. Time flew by and before I knew it 30 minutes had passed and I had completed a killer workout. My muscles felt more at ease and recovered faster as well. I ended up being leaner than I had ever been in the past. This was all in addition to a balanced diet and an increase in protein and in carbs, so I got to feed any munchies that I did get!
Cannabis has also allowed me to have a good night’s sleep which is essential for your overall health and fitness goals. Some cannabis strains has been shown to boosting your metabolism as well as suppress your appetite! There are actually so many strains that aid in energy, focus, suppress or enhance appetite and enhanced mood.
