Joey Gilbert
Joey Gilbert is a Nevada-based lawyer and community champion who has responded to the community outcry by filing lawsuits against Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak requesting an immediate reversal of the permanent emergency regulations (view the lawsuits at Covid19NevadaStrong.com). He is licensed in Nevada, admitted to practice in U.S. Federal Courts, and admitted to the U.S. 9th Circuit and the United States District Court of Nevada. As a collegiate boxer, Joey was a 3-time National Champion (NCBA 1997, 1998, and 1999), 4-time Regional Champion, and 4-time All American at the University of Nevada, Reno. After returning from basic training/technical school for the Nevada Air National Guard, he fought and became the Nevada State Golden-Gloves Super-Middleweight Champion in May 2000. In 2004, Joey was cast in NBC’s The Contender, working alongside Sylvester Stallone, Sugar Ray Leonard, and other talented boxers. Joey’s incredible work-ethic led him to become ranked #3 in the world by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and #7 in the world by the World Boxing Council (WBC). Joey was formerly both WBO-NABO and WBC-USNBC Middleweight Champion—2006 & 2007.
