John Carlson runs the blog The Paranormalist and says that he has had a lifetime of unexplained weirdness, beginning when he was just four-years old. Carlson says that because of these strange and frightening experiences, he has an obsession with all things unexplained and otherworldly. From unknown animals to UFOs, ghosts, spirits, lost continents, and hidden histories.

This week on Exploring the Bizarre, Carlson will relate his astounding experience, which he calls "The Big One." In June, 2014, Carlson, along with his friend Adam Davies, a well-known explorer and a researcher of cryptids, journeyed to southern Oregon for a bigfoot expedition. What happened instead was a bizarre experience that occurred over two nights, involving "demonic looking" creatures that seemed to enter our world from a glowing "portal" in the dark forest.

As Adam Davies would later say about the event: “It was like a battle.”
